Alexandra Simotta studied law at the University of Vienna. While studying abroad in Thessaloniki, she completed exams in European and international law. Upon completion of her studies, she spent the required year of legal traineeship at the Viennese district court in Hietzing, the public prosecution authorities in Vienna and the commercial court of Vienna, working in the departments of media and insolvency law. She then undertook a four-month internship at the Austrian Consulate General in New York. She joined CMS as an associate in 2011. Alexandra Simotta is the co-author of several publications. In her law practice, she focuses on civil law and law of civil proceedings as well as commercial and insolvency law. She is fluent in German and English and has good command of French and Spanish.
