CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz advises clients from a number of industries operating domestically and internationally in all of the fields of competition and anti-trust law. Our legal advice does not stop at the contract drafting stage. Rather, we also represent our clients in competition law disputes before the courts, in particular in cases involving proceedings for abuse of market power and private enforcement.

In this area, merger control law is also of great practical significance. We regularly advise and represent clients in connection with merger applications filed with the national authorities and the European Commission, in particular in connection with cross-border transactions. Together with our CMS partner firms, we have over approx. 100 specialists at 39 European locations in 21 countries who are able to quickly and efficiently perform merger control filings. This is of great value to our clients, particularly on time-critical transactions.

It is of particular importance to be able to intervene quickly in cases involving searches of client premises by European Commission officials and national authorities ("dawn raids"). In the realm of anti-trust law, these have become significantly more frequent as a result of the leniency policies for which EC law has provided the impetus. The "CMS Dawn Raid Network" offers the largest network of deployable specialists of all of the law firms in Europe.

Vertical integration constitutes a further main area of CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz's practice in this area, particularly in the fields of healthcare, biotechnology and new media.

In the realm of privatisations, particularly, EU subsidies law has taken on large significance, as well, with frequent interfaces and cross-disciplinary questions arising in public procurement law and anti-trust law.
